Heart of Kentucky Aviation Celebration… Held the final weekend of June or first weekend of July each year, planes fill the air and line the tarmac at the Lebanon-Springfield Airport. The Celebration kicks off with a Pilots and Friends Breakfast. This is the only time each year that the fly-in breakfast is open to the public. The rest of the day is spent with plane and pilot contests, radio-controlled jet demonstrations by Lewis “The General” Patton, flight training exhibits and more. This antique and modern plane fly-in will give visitors a close-up look at these wonderful machines, an introduction to the terminal and hangers and the opportunity to learn about aviation while enjoying the shows. There is no general admission charge but reservations are required for the Pilots & Friends Breakfast. They can be purchased in advance at the Lebanon Tourist & Convention Commission office at 239 N. Spalding Ave. Ste. 200, Lebanon KY 40033-1518, the Lebanon-Springfield Airport at 680 Airport Ln., Springfield KY 40069 or on this site. The Heart of Kentucky Aviation Celebration is a production of ProAir, the Lebanon Tourist & Convention Commission and Phillips 66.
