Each April, Lebanon welcomes a whirlwind of activity to celebrate spring and the energy to get out in the yard, weed the flower bed, build a storage shed or get those plants in the ground.

The Heart of Kentucky Farm, Home & Garden Show is a three-time Kentucky Top 10 Spring Event honoree and features more than 100 exhibits from potted herbs and garlic jelly to birdhouses, burning rocks and cedar posts.

There are celebrity speakers, an area devoted to fun for the kids, food galore and demonstrations all day, each day. Best of all, parking and admission are FREE!

It all happens 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday inside the Tobacco Services Inc. receiving station located at 801 W. Main St. on U.S. 68/Main Street in historic downtown Lebanon.

Celebrating its 21^st  anniversary, the event is April 5-6 and features exhibitors representing landscaping and nurseries, agriculture, livestock and farm equipment, cedar furniture, yard furniture, outdoor storage buildings, herb products, bird houses, handmade painted stained glass, a variety of arts and crafts, free trees, inside and outside home use products and Kentucky Proud products.

There were also demonstrations by, among others, Jeneen Wiche and Allison Smith with the Kentucky Beef Council.

The Heart of Kentucky Farm, Home & Garden Show is a production of the Lebanon-Marion County Chamber of Commerce’s Agribusiness Committee and is sponsored by the Lebanon Tourist & Convention Commission.

♥3 p.m. – Marion County Animal Control Officer Jeff Wooldridge, crate training.

♥11 a.m.  – O’Daniel Nursery’s Mike O’Daniel, landscaping tips.

♥Noon – East Kentucky Power Cooperative Marketing Rep Meredith Boyd, “Ways You Can Go Green At Home.”

♥1 p.m. – Washington County Horticulture Agent Dennis Morgeson, rain gardens.

♥2 p.m. – Norma Jean Campbell, needle.

♥4 p.m. – Event closes.
