The Central Kentucky Youth Entrepreneurial Society, better known as YES, is dedicated to educating and inspiring young entrepreneurs and serious business- and civic-minded middle, high school and college age students. Students not only gain knowledge throughout the process but also confidence and empowerment to follow their dreams and create a roadmap for making their ideas reality.
YES is dedicated to finding and nurturing young people who want to start a business or civic organization now or in the future. Students learn about entrepreneurial activities, how to find helpful information, understand feasibility issues, start networking, hear guest speakers and more. Whether a student wants to start his or her own business or club now or in the future, YES offers a gateway to the road to the becoming a successful entrepreneur. Students will work in groups and as individuals.
There is no charge for the sessions. However, student participation is essential to the development of the individual and the rest of the class. There are expectations.
Classes are held on or about the last Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. at the Centre Square Convention Center. They last about one hour. The application deadline for the 2010-11 class is Sept. 16.
YES inspires and educates but is also fun and productive. No ideas are too big or too small to bring to this class. YES believes central Kentucky youth are the next great entrepreneurs and wants to make sure they have the tools with which to succeed.
