Centre Square…
Once serving as junior and senior high schools, Centre Square is comprised of two large buildings, indoor and outdoor theatres and Johnston Field. The Centre Square Convention Center was dedicated in August 2003. With its fully-equipped kitchen, office space and gymnasium/hall, the facility provides a place for meetings, performances and a place for athletes to hone their skills. The Lebanon Tourist & Convention Commission and Lebanon-Marion County Chamber of Commerce offices are located on the second floor of the Convention Center, which has hosted the Kentucky Festivals & Events Association’s annual convention, meetings of the Rural Heritage Development Initiative and the Lincoln Trail Homemakers Association annual convention, to name a few. The gymnasium is 94x74 and is used for conventions, banquets, receptions and performances. It has adjustable lighting and a built-in sound system and there are men’s and women’s bathrooms at either end. It can hold 650 banquet style and 800 theatre style. Functions held there include the Heart of Kentucky Winterfest bluegrass festival and workshops and the Heart of Kentucky Antique & Craft Extravaganza. There are two conference rooms on the top floor and men’s and women’s bathrooms on each floor. Conference Room 300 holds 50 theater style and 30 conference style while Conference Room 301 holds 40 theater style and 25 conference style. There is also a modular stage that has a maximum surface space of 704 square feet but is built from 4x8 sections. It comes with a skirt and two sets of steps. The Centre Square Arts & Culture Center features Angelic Hall, a 304-seat theatre with cushioned chairback seats, the Marion County Historical Museum, a gift shop, conference space and a restaurant and catering business will soon locate on the first floor. Angelic Hall is home of the weekly Music Man Soundstage Show and other performing arts. Johnston Field is a 225x350, lighted multi-purpose lawn that is used for sporting events and large outdoor gatherings, including the Live in Lebanon Concert Series and the Classic Hits 100.9 Battle of the Bands. The 50x32 outdoor stage has plenty of backstage space, storage, electric and two sets of steps for entering upstage. There are 250 parking spaces within the one-block area of Centre Square, including a dozen handicap spaces. There are several hundred more spaces one block away. The other two floors have men's and women's bathrooms. ♥ Second floor is a Welcome Center with Chamber of Commerce and Lebanon Tourist & Convention Commission offices and brochure racks.

Johnston Field has hosted such events as Hoofprints on the Stairs (outdoor drama), Live in Lebanon Concert Series, U.S. 68 Motorcycle Show, athletic events and more.
One of the great features of Centre Square is its location. It is one block off the beautiful and historic Main Street, which has great restaurants and eclectic shopping opportunities within easy walking distance. Additional meeting spaces are located at Lebanon Suites, Hampton Inn, Hollyhill Inn and the Marion County Public Library (which is a block away from Centre Square).
