Marion County Sportsman Lake comes alive in September with the Fishing for Kids/Mid-Kentucky Bass Anglers Days.

These are not your typical days on the lake.  There's a kid fishing derby, casting contests, guided fishing tournament by anglers from all over the state, Fun Zone, a hiking/nature walk, seminars, demonstrations and trophies for biggest fish caught in the tournament.

There are plenty of prizes, such as tackle packs, fishing poles, books, posters and more, to be won throughout the event.  Concessions and bathrooms are also available.

The Marion County Sportsman Club will also host a trap shoot, 3-D archery shoot and bass fishing tournament throughout the weekend. Register on location the day of the event.

This is great family fun for all ages.

• From Centre Square drive one block south on KY 55/Spalding Ave. to traffic signal.
• Turn right onto U.S. 68/Main St. and drive 2 miles.
• Turn left onto KY 208/Cemetery Rd. and drive .4 miles.
• Turn right only 208 continuation and drive 3.7 miles.
• Turn left onto 2744 and drive approximately 100 yards.
• Turn right onto Sportsman's Lake Rd. and drive 1.4 miles and the entrance to Marion County Sportsman Lake is on the left.
