Held in August, this is one of the most competitive legs of the Central Kentucky Tennis Series.

   The tournament is open to anyone but CKTS members are also vying for points on a circuit that includes tournaments in Harrodsburg, Danville, Elizabethtown, Liberty, Campbellsville, Bardstown and Glasgow. The competition is fierce but there are plenty of divisions and levels to give every entry a fighting chance.

   Champions of each division get a trophy and all players get a T-shirt to commemorate their participation and visit to Lebanon.

   There is no general admission for spectators and parking is free. Entry fees are $15 for non-CKTS players in singles and $10 per non-CKTS player for doubles. Entry fees are discounted to $12 and $8 respectively for CKTS members.

   The tournament might be re-scheduled if there is inclement weather and entry fees are non-refundable. The contingency date is Sat., Aug 27.

   The tournament is held at Graham Memorial Park, Marion County High School and Idle Hour Park and all locations are close to dining and lodging facilities. There are numerous amenities to serve the youngest children and oldest adults at Graham Memorial Park, including the Lebanon Aquatic Center with its 100-foot winding water slide.

2011 Schedule

         Sat., Aug. 20

• 9 a.m. - Registrations and matches begin. Check-in is at Graham Memorial Park. Players are expected to be able to play at any time during the day. Starting times are posted on the CKTS Web site after draws are completed.

  Sun., Aug. 21

• 9 a.m. - Matches resume. Players are expected to be able to play at any time during the day.

• From Centre Square, drive one block south on KY 55/Spalding Ave. to traffic signal.
• Turn right onto U.S. 68/Main St. and continue to next traffic signal.
• Turn left onto KY 49/Proctor Knott Ave. and drive 1 mile to Graham Memorial Park on the left at 525 Graham Memorial Park Dr., Lebanon KY 40033.

Directions to Marion County High School courts

• From Centre Square, drive one block south on KY 55/Spalding Ave. to traffic signal.
• Turn left onto U.S. 68/Main St. and drive 1.1 miles.
• Turn left onto Knight Way and continue around the Roby Dome to parking in front of the courts at 735 E. Main St., Lebanon KY 40033.

• From Centre Square, drive north on KY 55/Spalding Ave. for 11 miles.
